The Town Clerk’s Office offers the following service’s:
Dog Licenses
If your dog is four (4) months of age or older, it is required by NYS Agriculture & Law that the dog be licensed. Obtaining a license requires proof of rabies vaccination from your veterinarian. Dog licenses must be renewed annually, and the fees are as follows:
Spayed/Neutered: $7.50 (proof required)
Un-spayed/Un-neutered: $15.50
Seniors over 65 (Proof required) qualify for a $5.00 reduced license fee off original price.
New York State Conservations Licenses
You may obtain Hunting/Fishing Licenses at the Town Clerk’s office. New York State requires that all fishermen over the age of 16 purchase a fishing license.
- Fishing: $25 ($50 Non- Resident)
- Small/Big Game: $22 ($100 Non-Resident)
- Turkey Permit: $10 ($20 Non-Resident)
- Muzzle loading: $15 ($30 Non-Resident)
- Trapping: $20 ($20 Non-Resident)
- DMP’s (Deer Management Permit): $10

Handicap Parking Permits
Handicap Parking Permit forms are available through the Town Clerk’s office or your doctor’s office. Please bring in this form and your driver’s license/ID card. There is no fee for a Handicap Parking Permit.
Registrar
You can request a copy of a marriage, birth, or death certificate. There is a $10 fee per certified copy.
Marriage Licenses
A Marriage License may be obtained at the office of the Town Clerk. The fee for a marriage license is $40, cash, and both parties are required to be present for signature. You will need to bring the following in:
- Social Security Card
- Driver’s License
- Birth Certificates
- Divorce Decree (if applicable)
Tax Collector
Land tax bills are mailed to you the first week in January. They can be paid by mail with check or money order or in person with cash, check, or money order. EXACT amounts only please.
Please note the following from The Tax Collector:
The 1st Installment payment for taxes are made to the local Tax Collector before Jan.31st.
**The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th payments are made to Clinton County Treasurer in Plattsburgh.**
The Tax Collector receives payments in full until April 30.
